Dr. Dale Cox, Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at Utah Valley University, has transformed his program by incorporating SchoolSims simulations, which provide hands-on, experiential learning opportunities for students. Previously reliant on static case studies, Dr. Cox discovered that these simulations effectively emulate real-world scenarios, facilitating deep discussions and enhancing student engagement. By measuring the effectiveness of the simulations through group conversations and reflection papers, he noted that students leave with a greater understanding and a forward-thinking leadership perspective. As a result, simulations have become a core element of the curriculum, bridging the gap between theory and practice in the Educational Leadership program.
